Total protection with dental crowns

Sometimes tooth decay has advanced to the point where a filling is not enough to save the tooth. That’s where crowns come in. They are caps that cover your tooth and lock out further decay, allowing you to use the tooth without pain or worry.

Crowns are also essential to prevent the tooth from having to be removed.

When do I need a crown?

Crowns are often the last resort before a tooth is extracted. If you are suffering from pain and discomfort associated with chewing or talking from a single tooth, you should make an appointment with Aztec Dental immediately. An x-ray will typically reveal the damage to the tooth. If we can fix the damage by other means such as a filling, a crown may be recommended.

How long does a crown last?

The average life of a dental crown is up to approximately fifteen years. However, with proper care, they may last up to twenty-five years.
